Abstract

A recent study conducted in North-Central Bangladesh aimed to determine the prevalence of leptospirosis, a zoonotic disease caused by infection with the Leptospira bacteria. The study found that among 186 febrile patients, 47% tested positive for Leptospira using different diagnostic methods. The research also identified the species of Leptospira prevalent in the region as L. wolffii. The study provides valuable insights into the recent epidemiological features of leptospirosis in Bangladesh and highlights the predominance of L. wolffii since 2019. [Extracted from the article]
