Abstract
- A new report from the Department of Immunology discusses the role of Bcl-2 family proteins and sorafenib resistance in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the primary type of liver cancer. The report highlights that liver cancer is a highly malignant disease with a poor prognosis, and late diagnosis makes treatment difficult. Sorafenib is the first-line treatment for advanced HCC, but resistance to this drug has been observed, particularly in relation to Bcl-2 family proteins. The review focuses on understanding the mechanisms behind sorafenib resistance in HCC. For more information, readers can refer to the International Journal of Cell Biology.
