Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at Poznan University of Medical Sciences in Poland explored the potential pain-relieving effects of Cannabis sativa L. (CSL) extract on neuropathic pain. The study found that CSL extract, which contains cannabinoids, demonstrated antinociceptive effects comparable to gabapentin, a commonly used medication for neuropathic pain. The researchers also observed changes in the expression of cannabinoid receptors in the brain regions of rats, suggesting that additional signaling pathways may contribute to the initiation and transmission of neuropathic pain. This research provides insights into the potential therapeutic properties of Cannabis extracts for human use. [Extracted from the article]
