Abstract

A recent study conducted at the University of Aquila in Italy analyzed the clinical and radiographic outcomes of patients who received a single implant supporting a crown with a cantilever extension, compared to those who received two implants supporting two single crowns. The study found that there was no significant difference in the peri-implant marginal bone level and probing pocket depth between the two groups. The prosthesis survival rate was high in the cantilever group, although there was a relatively high prevalence of complications. The research suggests that using a single implant with a cantilever extension does not result in a lower implant survival rate compared to using two implants. [Extracted from the article]
