Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center examined the accuracy and sensitivity of urinary hormone levels in fertility tracking apps and devices. The study found that serum hormones, specifically estradiol (E2) and progesterone (P), may be better biomarkers for tracking ovulatory cycle events compared to urinary hormone levels. The researchers used mathematical tools to analyze hormone levels and found that serum E2 and (E2, P) were effective in signaling the start of the fertile window and the ovulation/luteal transition interval. These findings have implications for the development of future fertility tracking technology. [Extracted from the article]
