Abstract: This text recounts the author's personal experience participating in the Selma-to-Montgomery march for civil rights in 1965. The author describes their journey to Selma, where they joined thousands of marchers led by Martin Luther King Jr. The march aimed to protest racial discrimination and advocate for voting rights. The author reflects on the atmosphere of fear and tension during the march, as well as the eventual success of the movement with the signing of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
