Abstract
- A recent study conducted at Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby, United Kingdom, aimed to assess and compare the quality of life (QoL) of patients with a stoma based on surgical settings, types of procedures undergone, and the amount of support received before discharge. The study found that QoL in patients undergoing elective settings was significantly higher than in emergency settings, regardless of the procedure. The study also highlighted the positive impact of pre-surgery information and support on QoL. The findings provide valuable insights for healthcare decision-making and management planning for colostomy patients. [Extracted from the article]
