A recent study conducted at the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre focused on abdominal injuries and their complications. The researchers specifically examined the case of a 4-year-old boy who suffered a penetrating abdominal-perineal injury from a fall and later developed peritonitis. Unfortunately, the boy's condition worsened and he developed an enterocutaneous fistula, ultimately succumbing to the multifactorial complications.
