Abstract

A recent study conducted at the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre focused on abdominal injuries and their complications. The researchers specifically examined the case of a 4-year-old boy who suffered a penetrating abdominal-perineal injury from a fall and later developed peritonitis. Unfortunately, the boy's condition worsened and he developed an enterocutaneous fistula, ultimately succumbing to the multifactorial complications. The study highlights the challenges and burdens associated with this disease pathology, both for patients and the medical system. For more information, the full case report can be accessed through SAGE Open Medical Case Reports. [Extracted from the article]
