Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China has reported findings on the treatment of obstructive hydrocephalus in a patient with CLIPPERS (Chronic Lymphocytic Inflammation with Pontine Perivascular Enhancement Responsive to Steroids). The study describes the case of a 32-year-old woman who presented with symptoms such as dizziness, dysarthria, unsteady gait, headache, and memory loss. The patient's condition improved with immunosuppressive therapy, specifically intravenous methylprednisolone and oral prednisone combined with mycophenolate. The study suggests that CLIPPERS can cause obstructive hydrocephalus by damaging vascular endothelial cells through T-cell activation. [Extracted from the article]
