Abstract

A study conducted by researchers at Payame Noor University in Tehran, Iran, has focused on the use of carbon nanotubes to determine the presence of the cardiac drug isoproterenol in the presence of acetaminophen. Isoproterenol is commonly used to treat heart attacks, bronchitis, and allergic emergencies, but excessive use can lead to adverse effects such as decreased blood pressure and heart failure. The researchers developed a sensitive electrochemical sensor using a modified electrode with multiwall carbon nanotubes and ionic liquid, which showed promising results in detecting isoproterenol in serum and urine samples. The study was peer-reviewed and received financial support from Payame Noor University. [Extracted from the article]
