Abstract

This case study describes how online course activities may be used as a means of effective professional development. By using the core features (Garet, et.al., 2001) of (a) focus on content knowledge; (b) opportunities for active learning; and (c) coherence with other learning activities work of one teacher is analyzed to describe the effect on his conceptions of teaching and learning mathematics.
