Abstract

Researchers from the University of Pisa in Italy have published a new report on the interplay of circularly polarized light with molecular and structural chirality in nanocrystals. The study explores the potential for using cellulose nanocrystals and chiral lanthanide complexes to manipulate light in electronic and photonic devices. The research suggests that a multilayer architecture can modify the intrinsic circularly polarized luminescence and total emission of the complex, depending on the enantiomer applied and the detection geometry. This research has been peer-reviewed and may have implications for polarization control in various technological applications. [Extracted from the article]
