Abstract

Researchers at the Federal University Minas Gerais in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, conducted a study on the impact of spinal damage on the functional capacity of patients with axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA). They compared two radiographic scores and found that spinal damage was associated with physical function in axSpA, but to a lesser extent than disease activity and mobility. The study concluded that incorporating cervical facet joint assessment did not improve the ability to predict function. This research has been peer-reviewed and published in The Journal of Rheumatology. [Extracted from the article]
