A recent study conducted by McMaster University School of Medicine compared the safety and efficacy of anti-VEGF monotherapy versus anti-VEGF and steroid combination therapy for diabetic macular edema (DME). The study included 16 randomized control trials with 1166 eyes, showing that monotherapy resulted in better visual acuity and smaller changes in retinal thickness compared to combination therapy.
