Abstract

Mulberry trees, known for their rapid growth and high biomass yield, offer a sustainable alternative to traditional fuel woods and energy sources. With the depletion of fossil fuels and increasing environmental concerns, the transition to renewable energy becomes crucial. Mulberry's substantial biomass potential, marked by high density, calorific value, and fixed carbon content, makes it an attractive bioenergy crop. This paper explores mulberry's role in reducing carbon emissions and its adaptability to various agroclimatic conditions, positioning it as a viable option for bioenergy production. Utilizing mulberry biomass through thermochemical conversion technologies such as pyrolysis and gasification provides a renewable solution to future energy demands while aiding in climate change mitigation. The paper emphasizes the need for continued research and investment to fully leverage mulberry's potential as a bioenergy source, calling for collaborative efforts to establish supportive frameworks for a sustainable energy future.
