Abstract

A recent report from the University of Genoa discusses the discovery of novel thiazole-based SIRT2 inhibitors as potential anticancer agents. The research focuses on the development of effective sirtuin small molecule inhibitors for various pharmacological applications, including cancer therapy. Through molecular modeling, chemical synthesis, and biological assays, the study identified compound 5a as a promising SIRT2 inhibitor with potential for further development as an anticancer agent. This research sheds light on the ongoing efforts to find new and more selective modulators for combating cancer and other diseases. [Extracted from the article]
