Abstract
- Researchers at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center conducted a study on the nephrotoxic effects of a low-dose pemetrexed-cisplatin combination regimen in mice. The study found that the combination of these drugs caused significant kidney damage, including oxidative stress and apoptosis, compared to when the drugs were administered individually. The researchers recommend extensive monitoring of renal function in patients receiving the pemetrexed-cisplatin combination therapy. The study was funded by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute and published in BMC Nephrology. [Extracted from the article]
