Abstract
- Researchers at the Butantan Institute in Sao Paulo, Brazil, have conducted a study on leptospirosis, a global zoonotic disease with a high mortality rate. The study focused on the role of chemokines in the immune response against Leptospira bacteria, highlighting the importance of CCL5, CXCL5, and CXCL9 in the pathogenesis of the disease. The findings suggest that CCL5 could potentially serve as a biomarker for diagnosing leptospirosis. This research provides valuable insights into the immune mechanisms involved in combating this infectious disease. [Extracted from the article]
