Abstract

Researchers at the University Hospital and Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen conducted a study on the use of kaolin in combination with mechanical compression for postprocedural radial artery hemostasis. The study involved 712 patients undergoing coronary angiography or intervention, with results showing that the use of kaolin led to shorter compression times in both proximal and distal radial artery approaches. Additionally, distal radial artery approaches were associated with a lower incidence of hematomas and shorter compression times compared to proximal approaches, with no cases of proximal radial artery occlusion reported.
