Abstract

A recent study conducted at the University of Sao Paulo explored the efficacy of acetazolamide as adjunct therapy in improving fluid management in patients with acute congestive heart failure. The meta-analysis included three randomized clinical trials with a total of 596 patients, showing that acetazolamide adjunctive therapy led to an increase in natriuresis at day 2. The findings suggest that acetazolamide may have potential benefits in improving fluid management and enhancing clinical outcomes in patients with acute congestive heart failure, although further research is needed to validate these results and explore long-term effects.
