Abstract
- Researchers from Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Italy conducted a study on the economic and social burden of congenital thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (cTTP). The research highlighted the significant impact of cTTP on patients and society, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive approach to disease management beyond clinical treatment. The study revealed that productivity loss and diminished quality of life were major contributors to the economic burden of cTTP, with out-of-pocket expenses also playing a role. The findings underscore the importance of increased awareness, research, and access to care for cTTP patients to improve well-being and ensure healthcare system sustainability.
