Abstract

A recent study conducted at the College of Sciences and Humanities in Alkharj, Saudi Arabia, explored the use of beachwood sawdust as a low-cost and effective adsorbent for pharmaceutical acetaminophen drug effluent management. The research focused on creating a sustainable and green approach to pharmaceutical uptake in aqueous solutions by utilizing cellulose isolated from waste and magnetite nanoparticles. The study found that the M:SD (1:2) composite showed the highest removal rate of acetaminophen, with optimal conditions at pH 7.0 and an adsorbent dose of 2.0 g/L at room temperature. The research highlights the potential of utilizing agriculture-based waste for pharmaceutical waste management. [Extracted from the article]
