Abstract
- Research from Fuwai Hospital explores the association between Lipoprotein(a) and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) levels with the risk of hypoattenuating leaflet thickening (HALT) after transcatheter aortic valve replacement. The study, involving 307 individuals, found that higher baseline levels of Lp(a) and hs-CRP were associated with an increased risk of HALT. Individuals in the top 25th percentile for both Lp(a) and hs-CRP had a 4.74-fold risk of HALT compared to those outside this percentile. The findings suggest that these biomarkers may compound the risk of HALT in patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve replacement. [Extracted from the article]
