Abstract

A study conducted at Hebei University in Baoding, China, focused on the effects of leonurine in treating diabetic nephropathy (DN) in rats induced with Streptozotocin. The research found that leonurine treatment led to increased insulin levels, decreased blood glucose and HbA1c levels, reduced inflammation, and improved kidney function markers in the DN rats. The study concluded that leonurine shows promise as a potential treatment for DN. This peer-reviewed research provides valuable insights into the potential therapeutic effects of leonurine on DN.
