Abstract
- With its single parameter, the Lorenz-Rohde function lacks the necessary functional flexibility to adequately fit the asymmetric empirical Lorenz curve. This limitation is demonstrated by the empirical Lorenz curve constructed based on Ghana's total income employment data. Therefore, this study aimed to develop the Lorenz-Extended Rohde function that could effectively accommodate the asymmetry of the Lorenz curve. In order to achieve this goal, specific parameters were introduced to modify the Lorenz-Rohde function while ensuring its preservation. The results demonstrated that the proposed Lorenz-Extended Rohde function consists of two types: Lorenz-Extended Rohde Type 1 with three parameters and Lorenz-Extended Rohde Type 2 with two parameters. Both types exhibited notable improvements in fitting accuracy compared to the original Lorenz-Rohde function for the asymmetric Lorenz curve. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
