Abstract

Researchers from Deakin University in Australia have developed biocompatible MXene-reinforced molecularly imprinted membranes for the simultaneous filtration and capture of acetaminophen molecules. The incorporation of MXene into the membranes improved mechanical integrity and surface reactivity, allowing for efficient deposition of a molecularly imprinted polymer layer. This study offers insights into enhancing the functionality of polymer materials by incorporating MXene nanofillers into membrane production. The research was supported by Deakin University Institute for Frontier Materials and has been peer-reviewed. [Extracted from the article]
