Abstract

A study conducted at Yanbian University in China compared the pharmacokinetic behaviors of curcumin in rats following oral and intratracheal administration. The research established an LC-MS/MS method to measure curcumin and its conjugates in rat plasma, revealing distinct pharmacokinetic profiles between the two administration routes. Intratracheal administration resulted in higher curcumin plasma concentrations compared to oral administration, suggesting potential therapeutic benefits. This study provides valuable insights for preclinical pharmacokinetic investigations and highlights the potential advantages of inhalation as a drug delivery route. [Extracted from the article]
