Abstract

A recent study conducted at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, focused on the disparities in the utilization of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for prostate cancer detection. The study found that the use of MRI for prostate cancer detection increased significantly between 2012 and 2019, with a decrease in racial disparities but persistent urban-rural disparities. Factors such as income, education, and geographic location were associated with the utilization of MRI for prostate cancer detection. The researchers suggest targeted public health interventions to address these disparities and eliminate healthcare inequities. [Extracted from the article]
