Abstract
- Researchers at Zhejiang University have developed a technique to isolate and analyze micronuclei DNA (MN-DNA) from erythrocytes in peripheral blood for early detection of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The study, which included human and murine models, found that tumor-associated MN-DNA features could accurately distinguish early-stage HCC patients from healthy individuals with high sensitivity. The research highlights the potential of MN-DNA as a promising tool for early HCC detection and suggests a significant relationship between these signatures and tumor presence in both human and murine species.
