Abstract

A study conducted at Sun Yat-sen University in Guangdong, China, focused on the genetic variant of TNFSF15 in Chinese patients with Crohn's Disease. The research found that the GG genotype of rs6478109 was associated with a higher risk of developing the stricturing phenotype of the disease. This genotype was also linked to increased expression of pro-fibrotic proteins in the ileal mucosa. The study suggests that the TNFSF15 risk genotype GG could serve as a predictor for disease progression in Chinese patients with Crohn's Disease. [Extracted from the article]
