Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers from Nanjing Medical University in China focused on the clinical value of the triglyceride glucose-body mass index (TyG-BMI) in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). The study included 393 patients diagnosed with NAFLD and found that higher TyG-BMI values were associated with a higher prevalence of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and liver fibrosis. The researchers concluded that TyG-BMI could serve as a valuable noninvasive indicator for diagnosing NAFLD, stratifying risk, and monitoring disease progression. [Extracted from the article]
