Abstract

A recent study conducted at Ain Shams University compared the effectiveness of preoperative nebulization with magnesium sulfate and ketamine in preventing postoperative sore throat during general anesthesia with endotracheal intubation. The randomized double-blinded clinical trial found that nebulization with ketamine was more effective in reducing the incidence and severity of postoperative sore throat, especially in the early postoperative period. The researchers concluded that ketamine nebulization was superior to magnesium sulfate nebulization in this regard.
