Abstract

A recent study from the University of Zaragoza evaluated the diagnostic accuracy of two sequences of the upper limb neurodynamic test 1 (ULNT1) for detecting carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) in patients with unilateral symptoms. The study found that the distal-to-proximal sequence (ULNT1-DIST) showed better diagnostic accuracy for CTS compared to the standard sequence (ULNT1-STD), especially when interlimb asymmetries in range of motion or sensory response were considered. However, side-to-side comparisons may have limited utility in cases with bilateral symptoms. The research was conducted by Gianluca Ciuffreda and his team at the University of Zaragoza.
