Abstract

A study conducted at Golestan University of Medical Sciences in Iran compared the effects of magnesium sulfate and clonidine on hemodynamic factors and bleeding volume during septorhinoplasty surgery. The study, which involved 60 patients, found that both drugs were equally effective in inducing hypotension, but magnesium sulfate was as effective as clonidine in controlling hemodynamic changes and reducing blood loss volume. The researchers concluded that magnesium sulfate could be a viable alternative to clonidine in managing these factors during septorhinoplasty procedures. [Extracted from the article]
