Abstract
- A recent study from the Faculty of Pharmacy explores species-specific differences in acetaminophen hepatotoxicity, focusing on the role of heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) expression levels. The research found that the EC50 for APAP-induced cell death varied among mouse, rat, and human hepatoma cell lines, with HSP70 expression positively correlating with cell death resistance. The study suggests that HSP70 may play a role in inhibiting APAP-induced cell death, highlighting potential differences in acetaminophen therapy outcomes across species. [Extracted from the article]
