Abstract

A recent study conducted at Dicle University in Turkey focused on evaluating the levels of biomarkers such as presepsin, apelin, and irisin in patients with cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL). The research found that presepsin levels were significantly elevated in patients with CL compared to healthy controls, while no significant differences were observed in irisin and apelin levels. The study suggests that measuring presepsin levels could potentially serve as a prognostic marker in CL, aiding clinicians in assessing disease progression and treatment response.
