Abstract

A study conducted by Syracuse University explores the impact of perceived social support on subjective wellbeing among working-age adults in the United States with and without limitations in activities of daily living (ADL). The research suggests that individuals with ADL limitations report lower subjective wellbeing compared to those without limitations, and that emotional and instrumental social support may play a role in mediating these differences. The study highlights the importance of systemic interventions beyond enhancing social support to improve subjective wellbeing among adults with ADL limitations. This research has been peer-reviewed and provides valuable insights into the intersection of disability, social support, and wellbeing. [Extracted from the article]
