Abstract
- A recent study conducted at Shimane University Faculty of Medicine in Japan examined the impact of prostaglandin-associated periorbitopathy (PAP) severity on the surgical effectiveness of the Ahmed Glaucoma Valve (AGV) implantation. The research involved 102 Japanese subjects with primary open-angle glaucoma who underwent AGV implantation and completed postoperative visits for 12 months. The study found that the severity of PAP did not significantly affect the surgical outcomes of AGV, suggesting that other factors may influence the success of glaucoma surgeries. The findings provide valuable insights for physicians considering surgical options for patients with glaucoma. [Extracted from the article]
