Abstract

A study conducted by researchers at Capital Medical University in Beijing, China, explored the association between the serum uric acid-to-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio (UHR) and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) in Chinese children with obesity. The study found that UHR levels were higher in obese children with MASLD compared to those without MASLD, and higher UHR levels were significantly associated with an increased risk of MASLD. The research concluded that UHR could serve as a predictive marker for diagnosing MASLD in obese children, highlighting its potential as a useful predictor for MASLD onset.
