Abstract
- Researchers at the Innlandet Hospital Trust conducted a study on the impact of bariatric surgery on remnant cholesterol (RC) levels in obese individuals with elevated glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c). The study compared the effects of Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) and sleeve gastrectomy (SG) on RC and HbA1c levels. Results showed a significant reduction in RC values after both surgeries, leading to lower cardiovascular disease risk. This research highlights the potential benefits of bariatric surgery in reducing RC levels in obese individuals. [Extracted from the article]
