Abstract
- Researchers at the University of Texas Austin have developed a software tool called CryptKeeper to address issues of unintentional gene expression in bacteria. This tool helps visualize predictions of gene expression signals in Escherichia coli and estimates the translational burden of DNA sequences. By incorporating negative design using CryptKeeper, researchers can mitigate cloning challenges and avoid complications arising from unintended gene expression. The study highlights the importance of addressing cryptic gene expression in synthetic biology workflows to improve experimental outcomes. [Extracted from the article]
