CIO Gets CEO Spot.

This article focuses on the naming of Joe DeTullio, former chief information officer (CIO) of Universal Music Group (UMG) and Seagram Spirits and Wine Group, as CEO of Royalty Services, a joint venture between UMG, Warner Music Group (WMG) Inc., Lightspeed Venture Partners Co. and Exigen Group in the U.S. Royalty Services is developing an end-to-end royalty transaction processing service for UMG and WMG. DeTullio says his experience as CIO, particularly focusing on information technology (IT) and business alignment and an integration implementation with line of business managers, will come in handy. Royalty Services will process millions of transactions now handled by the IT departments at UMG and WMG.
