Abstract

A study conducted at Quaid-i-Azam University in Islamabad, Pakistan, focused on developing smart Mupirocin-loaded Lipid Polymeric Hybrid Nanoparticles (MUPLPHNs) for targeted release in response to wound pH. The optimized MUPLPHNs demonstrated efficient antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, with sustained and pH-dependent drug release. The research concluded that these nanoparticles could enhance the therapeutic efficacy of Mupirocin against resistant bacterial wound infections. [Extracted from the article]
