Abstract

Researchers from Fujian Medical University Union Hospital conducted a study on the relationship between the non-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio (NHHR) and mortality in obese populations. The study, based on data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (1999-2018), found a U-shaped association between NHHR levels and cardiovascular and all-cause mortality. Results indicated that monitoring and managing NHHR levels in obese individuals may help reduce the risk of mortality. The study was published in Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine and can be accessed for free online. [Extracted from the article]
