Abstract
- A recent study from McGill University focused on Alzheimer's Disease and its preclinical stage, exploring the relationship between brain functional flexibility and the accumulation of pathological markers like Amyloid beta and tau. The research involved cognitively unimpaired individuals with a family history of AD, using imaging techniques to assess functional connectivity and flexibility in the brain. The study found that while individuals with AD pathology showed lower functional flexibility values, these values were also common in individuals without pathology, suggesting that functional flexibility may not be a reliable indicator of AD.
