Abstract
- A study conducted at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City found that using pulse irrigation during breast reduction surgery significantly reduced the rate of postoperative hematoma. The research involved a retrospective cohort study of 418 female patients who underwent breast reduction surgery between 2019 and 2023. Patients who received pulse irrigation had a lower incidence of hematoma compared to those who did not receive this treatment. The researchers suggest that pulse irrigation may help identify areas of unstable blood clotting, leading to better cauterization during the procedure. [Extracted from the article]
