Abstract

The article cites a study which looks into how women in general, and young women in particular, have come to Japan during the last decade to work as temporary dispatched workers. The study is a result of the research conducted by the author that included the interviews with temporary women workers. Some studies conducted on changes in labor and employment in the context of globalization results in the lack of attention towards these variables at the micro/local level. It seems that the issue of subjectivities requires more attention in studies focused on labor and employment.
