Abstract

This article presents information on creating a vintage effect in gift wrapping papers by combining new and old materials. A simple approach to tags, such as these white- and brown-paper examples, can be found at flea markets as well as office-supply stores. The designs have changed little over the years, so even new purchases will have a vintage feel. Plain paper goods become novel name tags with the help of a hole puncher. The brown and white coasters shown here are a case in point. Other ideas include bookplates, place cards, vintage postcards, and the self-adhesive labels used for jelly jars.
