Abstract: The article presents an update on the U.S. Army as of January 23, 2006. The 4th Infantry Division (ID) of the Army has assumed responsibility for the Multi-National Division Baghdad previously handled by the 3rd ID in Iraq. The 102nd Infantry Battalion will be deployed to Afghanistan to help the region rebuild from the war on terrorism. Several soldiers from the National Guard Bureau in Virginia have volunteered for duty in Afghanistan.
