Abstract

The article discusses the factors that contributed to the defeat of Germany in the World War I. The arrival of American troops caused the Germans to lose their manpower, allies and even political support. The organized counterattack of the Allies robbed the German armies of their defense which they called digging in. The U-boat campaign of Germany, which aims to attack ships in the Atlantic Ocean, backfired when the U.S. government decided to join the war.
